QUARTERLY ASSIGNMENTS AND SPECIAL CLASS ASSIGNMENTS

 

Quarterly Assignments The Quarterly Assignments are simple projects that help you get acquainted with the computer, specific web pages and information about Lincoln High.  
Special Class Assignments The Special Class Assignments are projects specifically related to activities and projects happening in the classroom.

 

 

 

 

Quarterly Assignments

These assignments will be assigned by the teacher, however you can complete them at any time for extra credit.  these eight assignments are designed to be completed on your own on school computers or at home.  If you have any questions, just ask a lab aide or your teacher.  Don't wait till the last minute you start working on an assignment so you can get help if you need it before it becomes late. 

Enough time has been provided so no one should have any excuse for not completing these simple projects.  Completing these assignments can raise (or lower) your grade.

The following questions relate to Lincoln High and you should know most of the answers.  If you don't know an answer, you should be able to find it on the Lincoln High web page or by asking someone.

  2. Who is the principal of our school?

  3. What is our mascot and what are the schools colors?

  4. What color is our school?

  5. Who are the two school deans this semester?    (Some of you should know them well.)

  6. Where on campus would you go to find a book?  In which building is it?

  7. What are you supposed to carry with you AT ALL TIMES besides your notebook with paper and pencils?

  8. Where would you go for help with a personal problem or a problem with your classes?

  9. What would you do to improve our campus?

  10. What are you NOT supposed to wear in class?

  11. Why aren't you supposed to use your CD player and cell phone in class?

Navigating A Web Site

You have made it to the final Internet project for the year.  In this assignment you will answer some question about Mr. Yates' Web Page and turn in the completed worksheet for points.

In this assignment, you will need to move between the worksheet and the web site.

This time, you must fill in the worksheet by entering answers on the worksheet on the computer.  You will only receive half credit if you fill in the form using pencil or pen

SPECIAL CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
The assignments listed below are projects introduced during class time under teacher supervision.  In most cases, the projects are scheduled to coincide with a specific lesson or unit being taught.  Clicking on the link to the left will take you to the actual project.  The text next to the link gives you a short overview of the project.  If you have any questions, just ask your teacher or an assistant.
Essay to Persuade In this assignment you will work with your teacher in the computer lab to complete a letter to the Principal.  You will use a special "template" to complete this assignment.
Math questions Answer the questions in the "Answer" column.
Print the page and save your work.  Be sure to write an example for each question.  When you are finished, Turn in the project for a grade.
History project On December 7th, we remember the Japanese attack on Pear Harbor.  Click on the link to the left and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the project.
Timeline Template

Timeline Rubric

Click on the "Timeline Template" link to create a timeline of events in U.S. History.   You will use a Microsoft Excel template to create your timeline.  Don't forget to save your work according to teacher instructions.

Presidential Sketch Template

 

In this project, you will choose a U.S. President from your text book.  You will then begin finding information about your president according to the Presidential Sketch template handout and finally, you will use Power Point to create a slideshow of your project.  Click on the link to the left when you are ready to create your slides.  Copy the template to My documents and save with your name.
Comparing the Two Major Political Parties in the U.S. In this assignment, you will use the Internet to answer questions about either the Democratic or Republican party.  You will use this information in class to identify differences and similarities between the parties and then you will begin to consider which party most closely represents your political beliefs.
